The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on the 26th that it had urgently arrested a woman in her 30s, identified as A, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act and driving under the influence of drugs under the Road Traffic Act.
At around 8:44 p.m. the previous day, A was driving a black Porsche on Banpo Bridge when the vehicle crossed over the guardrail and fell onto the Han River embankment near Jamsu Bridge. A suffered bruises and was transported to a hospital. A man in his 40s driving a Mercedes-Benz that was struck by the falling Porsche also sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.
During the on-site response, the police seized multiple empty vials of propofol and disposable syringes containing drugs from inside and around A's vehicle.
The police plan to question A after she completes treatment at the hospital to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and how she obtained the drugs, and will then review whether to request an arrest warrant.
