The Forestry Direct Payment is a system designed to enhance the public functions of forests and stabilize the income of forestry workers. It is paid to forestry workers engaged in forest product production or silviculture, as well as to agricultural corporations.

In particular, this year a new "simple application" system has been introduced to improve convenience for forestry workers. Through the simple application system, applicants can apply without visiting in person via mobile (text message, KakaoTalk) from March 4 to 31. Online applications can be submitted through the "Forestry-in Integrated Portal" until April 30.

Meanwhile, in-person applications will be accepted from April 1 to April 30 at the eup, myeon, and dong community service centers in the area where the forest land is located. Eligible applicants must prepare the required documents and apply within the application period.

Choi Junkwang, head of the Forest Division, said, "With the expansion of non-face-to-face applications, including the newly implemented simple application system this year, we expect that many forestry workers will be able to apply for the direct payment more conveniently," adding, "We ask for active participation so that no one misses the application period."
