Recipient of the Minister of Employment and Labor Award
Recognized for On-Site-Oriented Safety Management Achievements
Hyundai Glovis announced on the 26th that it has received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award in recognition of its contribution to preventing industrial site accidents.
Hyundai Glovis was selected as an outstanding company in win-win cooperation activities at the "2026 Large and Small-Medium Enterprises Occupational Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Project Agreement Ceremony" held on the 25th at Peace & Park Convention in Yongsan, Seoul.
Approximately 250 government and corporate officials attended the event, including the Minister of Employment and Labor, the President of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and Kim Ilhwan, Head of the Safety & Environment Center at Hyundai Glovis.
The "Large and Small-Medium Enterprises Occupational Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Project" is hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and organized by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. It is a program designed to support parent companies and partner companies in voluntarily promoting activities to improve occupational safety and health. Its goal is to strengthen capabilities for preventing industrial accidents and to close the gap in working conditions between large enterprises and small-medium enterprises.
Hyundai Glovis was highly recognized for continuously promoting on-site-oriented occupational safety and health support activities that reflect the characteristics of logistics sites. By actively gathering opinions from partner companies and on-site workers and carrying out effective improvement activities, the company has achieved zero serious industrial accidents from 2021 to the present.
In particular, to strengthen partner companies' capabilities in occupational safety and health management, the company operates a customized on-site safety consulting program called "Glovis Will Visit You," through which it diagnoses risk factors at each workplace and provides one-on-one customized safety improvement plans.
The company has also been striving to improve on-site working environments. Since 2021, Hyundai Glovis has been providing partner companies free of charge with side safety supports for cargo beds to prevent falls that may occur during vehicle loading and unloading operations of car carrier trucks. Furthermore, it has developed second-generation safety supports that enhance both work convenience and safety, and is expanding their distribution.
In addition, it has developed and distributed customized lightweight safety helmets for cargo truck drivers. The new helmets weigh 250 grams, reducing volume by 16% and weight by 14% compared to conventional industrial safety helmets, thereby lowering the burden of wearing them. They have passed the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's safety certification review, and their safety has been officially recognized.
The company is also working to establish an on-site-oriented safety culture by operating virtual reality (VR)-based experiential safety training and selecting and rewarding outstanding safety employees every month.
The safety management achievements of Hyundai Glovis continue to be recognized in government-level evaluations. In July last year, the company won the Grand Prize (Minister of Employment and Labor Award) at the "2025 Large and Small-Medium Enterprises Occupational Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Best Practices Presentation," and in January this year, Kim Ilhwan, Head of the Safety & Environment Center at Hyundai Glovis, received a Minister of Employment and Labor Commendation in the "2025 Large and Small-Medium Enterprises Occupational Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Merit" category.
A Hyundai Glovis official said, "We have consistently pursued win-win cooperation-based safety management under the recognition that the safety of our partner companies is directly linked to the safety of Hyundai Glovis," adding, "We will continue to expand occupational safety and health programs in collaboration with our partner companies to raise the overall safety level across industrial worksites."
