The Beginning of Blue Spring in Gangwon

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and the Gangwon Tourism Foundation announced that they have selected Sokcho City and Donghae City as the recommended travel destinations for March during the 2026 Year of Visiting Gangwon, and that they will launch a large-scale promotional marketing campaign. In March, they plan to focus on promoting Yeongnangho Lake in Sokcho, where the calm lake begins to fill with the blue energy of spring, and the Hanseom Emotional Sea Road in Donghae, a walking trail that runs alongside an open, expansive sea.

To celebrate their selection as the recommended travel destinations for March, Sokcho City and Donghae City will offer a wide range of discounts for visitors. Sokcho City will attract tourists by offering free admission to the cultural heritage sites of Sinheungsa Temple located within Seoraksan National Park. Donghae City will provide a 50% discount on the Donghae City Tour Bus fare throughout March, along with a 50% discount on the admission fee to Mureung Byeol Yucheonji, and a substantial 30% discount on usage fees for major experience facilities such as the luge, sky glider, alpine coaster, and zipline.
Details such as discount conditions and eligibility can be found on the official website for the Year of Visiting Gangwon, and the March recommended travel destinations and the diverse charms of tourism in Gangwon can also be explored through the Gangwon Tourism Foundation Instagram account. In addition, residents living outside Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province can receive a Gangwon Saenghwal Domincard through the Gangwon Hye Taek Easy website and enjoy ongoing discounts at around 300 partner establishments within the province.
