Daejeon City will provide promotional media in public facilities, such as urban railway and bus information boards, free of charge to small business owners and non-profit organizations.

The city will openly recruit businesses to use a total of 1,265 promotional media slots free of charge from February 20 to March 13.

The "Promotional Media Utilization Project" is a support program designed to realize the public interest function of advertising by providing public facility promotional media, such as urban railway and bus information boards, free of charge to small business owners and non-profit organizations in the city that face difficulties in promotion due to advertising costs.

The promotional media provided through this call for applications comprise a total of 1,265 slots, including one light-emitting diode (LED) electronic display, two large billboards, 134 urban railway advertising boards, and 1,128 bus arrival information terminals at bus stops.

Eligible applicants are businesses whose head office or main office is located in Daejeon City and fall under one of the following: corporations (organizations) designated by law (ordinance) as subject to administrative or financial support, non-profit corporations (organizations), and small enterprises as defined in Article 8, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises.

Businesses wishing to participate can download the application form from the Daejeon City website (Administrative Information → City Administration Data Room → Announcements) and submit their application by email by March 13.

The city plans to select 16 participating businesses through a review by the Promotional Media Operation Committee. The advertising planning and design for the selected businesses will be produced as a talent donation by professors and students from design-related departments at Daejeon University and Hanbat National University, and will be posted on the allocated promotional media for six months starting in July.

Lee Hoyoung, Public Relations Officer of Daejeon City, said, "The Promotional Media Utilization Project supports the entire process from advertising planning and design production to posting, thereby reducing the burden on small business owners and organizations in the city and helping to realize the public interest function of promotion," adding, "We look forward to active participation from interested businesses."

Meanwhile, Daejeon City has been implementing the Promotional Media Utilization Project since 2016 and has provided free advertising support to 325 businesses so far. For further details, please refer to the announcement on the Daejeon City website or contact the Daejeon City Public Relations Officer.
