Sancheong County Implements Comprehensive Lunar New Year Holiday Plan to Safeguard Residents' Safety and Livelihoods

General Situation Room in Operation to Minimize Inconvenience
Swift Response Throughout the Holiday Period

Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on February 12 that from February 14 to 18 it will implement a "Comprehensive Plan for the Lunar New Year Holiday" so that residents can enjoy a safe and plentiful holiday in terms of prices, livelihoods, and safety.

This comprehensive plan focuses on operating without any gaps, from advance inspections to emergency response during the holiday period, by preparing 12 detailed action plans in four areas: a holiday with plentiful shopping baskets, a warm and caring holiday, a safe holiday backed by 24-hour readiness, and a peaceful holiday without any gaps in public services.

To this end, the county will organize 10 task forces, including a general situation room operating during the holiday period and situation teams for everyday civil complaints in each town and township, and will deploy 115 public officials on emergency duty to prevent various incidents and accidents and to promptly handle any inconveniences experienced by residents.

To minimize gaps in medical services, the emergency room at the Sancheong County Public Health Medical Center will continue to operate 24 hours a day as usual, and the operating status of 25 medical institutions and pharmacies in the area will be posted on the county office website and emergency medical portals.

In addition, to stabilize prices, the county has designated a special price stabilization period through February 18 and is focusing on managing 16 key in-season items for the holiday by operating a comprehensive price stabilization situation room.

At the same time, it is inspecting and cracking down on compliance with country-of-origin labeling for 663 agricultural and processed products, and is working to stabilize the livelihoods of low-income residents through measures such as refunds of Onnuri gift certificates at traditional markets, targeting Sancheong, Deoksan, and Danseong markets and nearby shopping districts.

Furthermore, through a mobile Sancheong Love Gift Certificate prize event, a special promotion on the San&Cheong online shopping mall, and special sales events at the San&Cheong Masil Market and Local Food Happy Market, the county is selling Sancheong County's healthy food products to returning visitors and consumers nationwide at affordable prices.

In particular, for this Lunar New Year, in order to ensure that low-income households are not left out and can enjoy a warm holiday despite high prices and cold weather, the county has delivered consolation gifts to 730 residents of social welfare facilities and 80 low-income households, and has further spread the warmth of neighborly love through the Community Chest of Korea and holiday food-sharing events.

In addition, to prevent the accumulation of household and food waste and confusion in collection schedules during the holiday period, the county plans to publicize collection days in advance and to minimize inconveniences for residents by ensuring a stable supply of public services such as gas, electricity, and water and sewage.

An official from Sancheong County said, "We hope this will be a precious time that offers warm comfort and hope to all our residents, who have suffered greatly from two major disasters last year," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that visitors returning to their hometowns, tourists visiting sightseeing spots, and local residents can all enjoy a safe holiday."
