Since taking office as an elected mayor, Park has placed the highest value on keeping his promises to citizens and has been striving to enhance regional competitiveness by achieving results in a wide range of areas, including strengthening the foundation for Sacheon as the capital of the space and aviation industry, developing the city as a hub of marine tourism, expanding support for small business owners and people's livelihoods, implementing customized welfare policies, and reinforcing citizen-centered, communicative administration.

He has also focused on expanding industrial infrastructure, attracting companies, and laying the groundwork for job creation to help Sacheon leap forward as Korea's capital of the space and aviation industry. At the same time, he has worked to expand support for people's livelihoods, including self-employed business owners and small business owners struggling with the economic downturn, and has actively pursued policies to revitalize traditional markets and neighborhood commercial districts.

In particular, through on-site, field-centered administration such as tours of towns, townships, and neighborhoods (eup, myeon, and dong), he has quickly resolved inconveniences in daily life, and has strengthened customized policies for different groups, including young people, women, and senior citizens, which has been positively evaluated as increasing citizens' sense of tangible improvement.

Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "I believe this award is not a personal honor, but an evaluation of the achievements we have made together with our citizens," adding, "I will continue to stay true to my original intentions, faithfully fulfill my promises to voters to the very end, and create changes that citizens can truly feel."

Meanwhile, the "Korea Voters Award" is an annual award selected through a comprehensive evaluation of efforts to fulfill campaign pledges, contributions to local community development, and the promotion of exemplary policies to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts, in commemoration of "Voters Day" on May 10 each year. It is intended to help establish a sound election culture and to enhance the rights and interests of professional economic workers and small and medium-sized self-employed business owners.
