City Council Members and Secretariat Staff
Visit Welfare Facilities to Hear Concerns and Offer Encouragement
The Sacheon City Council in South Gyeongsang Province practiced neighborly love by visiting social welfare facilities in the city ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays and delivering consolation gifts.
On February 11, council members and staff of the council secretariat visited social welfare facilities to deliver consolation gifts such as daily necessities and to check on the living conditions of the residents. They also held a meeting with officials to listen to the difficulties faced on the ground and expressed deep gratitude to the staff who quietly devote themselves to their work.
Chairman Kim Kyuhun said, "To ensure that underprivileged neighbors in our community are not left out during the Lunar New Year holidays, the city council took the initiative to visit the sites," adding, "We will do our utmost to eliminate blind spots in welfare and to strengthen tailored support so that the voices we heard on-site can be reflected in policy."
Meanwhile, the Sacheon City Council has been taking the lead in expanding the culture of sharing and strengthening community solidarity by visiting local welfare facilities and offering consolation at every holiday season each year.
