Selected as an "Excellent Workplace for Health Promotion Activities 2025"
Global secondary battery materials specialist L and F announced that its Guji 1 Plant in Daegu has been selected as an "Excellent Workplace for Health Promotion Activities 2025" by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency.
L&F's Guji 1 Plant received a certificate recognizing it as an "Outstanding Workplace for Health Promotion Activities" from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency on the 4th. Provided by L&F.
Excellent Workplaces for Employee Health Promotion Activities are selected under a public notice of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, through a comprehensive evaluation of system establishment, program operation, and work environment management at workplaces that systematically promote employee health. With this selection, L and F's Guji 1 Plant will maintain its status as an excellent workplace for the next three years and will be officially recognized for its performance in operating health promotion activities.
In this evaluation, the Guji 1 Plant met all seven assessment criteria: system establishment, level of awareness, organizational culture, health promotion activities, environmental management, program operation, and partner company management. In particular, it received high marks for continuously improving its customized health promotion activities and program operations for employees.
Instead of uniform programs, L and F's Guji 1 Plant operates a segmented management system that reflects each individual's job characteristics and health status. In 2024, it implemented a variety of health promotion programs, including physical fitness measurement and exercise prescription for 206 people, job stress tests for 392 people, musculoskeletal risk factor surveys for 406 people, and a smoking cessation program for 14 people. The physical fitness measurement and exercise prescription program recorded a 93% participation rate compared to the target, while the job stress tests and musculoskeletal risk factor surveys both achieved 100% participation against their targets. In particular, by categorizing and managing individuals identified through the musculoskeletal risk factor survey, the number of musculoskeletal disorder accidents decreased by 60% compared to the previous survey, and 4 out of 14 participants in the smoking cessation program successfully quit smoking.
The Guji 1 Plant has established a joint labor-management promotion structure centered on the Industrial Safety and Health Committee, which includes regular labor-management consultations, operation of a dedicated organization, and a plan-execution-evaluation-feedback cycle. It also supports workers from partner companies so that they can participate in the health promotion programs.
