Haman-gun to Operate "2026 Lunar New Year Volunteer Service Intensive Period"

From February 6 to 15... Putting Sharing and Service into Practice

Haman-gun in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 10th that it will operate the "2026 Lunar New Year Volunteer Service Intensive Period" so that all residents can enjoy a warm holiday together without any neighbors being left out during the Lunar New Year.

This volunteer service intensive period will run for 10 days from February 6 to 15, featuring a variety of volunteer activities that put sharing and service into practice and are expected to spread warmth throughout the local community.

The main activities include: creating a warm Lunar New Year holiday for everyone; making our neighborhood clean and safe; and promoting volunteer service. These programs will focus on sharing activities for vulnerable groups and on volunteer projects aimed at improving the living environment.

In particular, 2026 has been designated by the United Nations (UN) as the "International Year of Volunteers," and Haman-gun plans to carry out meaningful initiatives to widely publicize this and to express gratitude to the volunteers who have devoted themselves to community development and to helping neighbors in need.

An official from the Welfare Policy Division of Haman-gun said, "To mark the International Year of Volunteers, we aim to raise awareness of the importance of volunteer work and to foster a warm Lunar New Year atmosphere in which all residents participate in sharing," adding, "We will continue to make ongoing efforts to promote and expand volunteer service."
