Agents of Change in the Local Community
The Seongju County Lifestyle Improvement Association in North Gyeongsang Province (President Kim Junghwa) held its 2026 New Year's general meeting on the 6th at the main auditorium of the Agricultural Technology Center, with about 70 federation directors and town and township executives in attendance.
This New Year's general meeting served as an occasion to discuss and finalize the direction of activities for the year, and to strengthen organizational unity by reviewing, together with the town and township executives, the roles and tasks of the association members.

The Seongju County Lifestyle Improvement Association is planning key projects for 2026 such as a carbon neutrality practice campaign, birth and childcare mentoring activities, and training programs to strengthen leadership competencies among rural women. Through these initiatives, the association pledged to actively fulfill its role as a women’s leadership body in rural communities.
In particular, during the general meeting, farmer safety practice training was conducted to reduce frequent safety accidents occurring in rural areas, with a focus on enhancing on-site response capabilities centered on accident prevention.
President Kim Junghwa said, "Throughout this year as well, I will work to strengthen the federation’s capabilities so that, by joining forces with our members, we can take pride in acting as agents of change in the local community."
An official from Seongju County stated, "We will continue to provide tailored training and project support so that the Lifestyle Improvement Association can fully exercise its capabilities as a key entity in rural areas."
