60 Courses in Education, Languages, Health, and More... Offered for 10 Weeks from March
Gijang-gun announced on the 6th that it will be recruiting students from the 9th to the 12th for the “Our Neighborhood Outreach Courses and Visiting Alley Courses for the First Half of 2026.”
The “Our Neighborhood Outreach Courses” are customized lifelong learning programs in which instructors visit learners directly at their preferred time and place, while the “Visiting Alley Courses” are courses within this program specifically designed for learners who are educationally marginalized.
This recruitment covers a total of 60 courses across 7 fields: education and academics, foreign languages, health, music, art and crafts, computers and communications, and home and daily life. Classes will run for 10 weeks from March 23 to May 29, 2026, and will be conducted both face-to-face and online, using non-face-to-face formats through platforms such as Zoom (ZOOM).
Eligible applicants are residents of Gijang-gun aged 19 or older. For face-to-face courses, at least 10 learners must be organized, and for non-face-to-face courses, at least 7 learners are required to apply. The Alley Courses must consist solely of at least 7 learners from educationally marginalized groups, including basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income households, persons with disabilities, multicultural, single-parent, and multi-child families, male students, and office workers.
Applications are submitted after checking the list of instructors on the Gijang-gun Lifelong Learning website, with a representative of the learners applying for the outreach course on behalf of the group. Courses are opened in descending order of scores based on evaluation criteria.
An official from Gijang-gun said, “We have prepared a variety of courses so that local residents can easily access lifelong learning in their daily lives,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to improve access to learning.”
