Up to 200,000 won per month for 10 months...Easing fixed-cost burdens and promoting management stability
Gijang County is launching a rent support program to help young entrepreneurs who are struggling with the burden of high rental costs.
On February 5, Gijang County announced that it will begin full-scale implementation of the "Young Entrepreneurs Rent Support Program." This new program for 2026 has been prepared to support management stability for young entrepreneurs who are having difficulty maintaining their business premises due to fixed costs in the early stages of starting a business.
The county plans to select a total of 20 young entrepreneurs and provide support for their business premises rent from March to December, offering 200,000 won per month for up to 10 months. The maximum annual support per person is 2 million won.
Eligible applicants are young people aged between 19 and 44 (born between 1982 and 2007) as of the announcement date, who are registered residents of Gijang County and have been operating a business there continuously since registering as a business owner on or after January 1, 2021. In addition, the business premises must be located in Gijang County, have annual sales of 100 million won or less, and a monthly rent of at least 250,000 won.
Jeong Jongbok, Mayor of Gijang County, said, "I hope this rent support program will serve as a solid pillar for young entrepreneurs who are struggling amid high inflation and an economic downturn," adding, "We will continue to provide practical support so that young people can settle down and grow stably in the region."
Young entrepreneurs who wish to apply can fill out the application documents with reference to the announcement on the Gijang County website from February 5 to 27, and then submit them to the official email address for youth policy in Gijang County.
