'Free Office Space'... Siheung City Offers Complimentary Shared Offices to Middle-aged Residents

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province is offering free office space to middle-aged residents preparing for re-employment or starting a new business.

On February 3, Siheung City announced that it has established and begun operating a shared office space called 'Gonggan' on the first floor of the Siheung Northern Middle-aged Center, located at 465-4 Daeya-dong, to support middle-aged residents in preparing for startups and resuming economic activities.

'Gonggan' is designed for middle-aged prospective entrepreneurs, one-person businesses, freelancers, and those preparing for re-employment who face difficulties securing office space. Users can utilize the space for various purposes, including individual work, startup preparation, meeting preparation, and document work.

The first floor of the center features office space suitable for individual work, while the smart lounge on the fourth floor offers free access to office equipment such as laptops and printers.

Any Siheung resident aged 40 to 64 can use the facility. Those interested can visit the center on the same day, apply, select a seat, and begin using the space immediately. The facility is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on weekends and public holidays. For inquiries regarding usage, contact the Job and Economy Division of Siheung City Hall.

The center, where the space is located, serves as a hub to help middle-aged residents resume practical economic activities. It offers a variety of employment support services, including career counseling and job placement, life planning counseling, work and activity support, and educational programs for the middle-aged.

Jung Hogi, Director of Economic Affairs for Siheung City, stated, "We hope the shared office space will serve as a starting point for new challenges," adding, "We will actively support middle-aged residents so they can continue their economic activities within the community."
