At around 12:39 p.m. on February 2, a fire broke out in the reed field under Susan Bridge in Daesan-myeon, Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam Province.

Upon receiving the report, the fire authorities mobilized 31 personnel and 13 pieces of equipment, focusing on preventing the fire from spreading while working to extinguish the blaze.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., Changwon City sent out a safety alert message stating, "Both directions of traffic on Susan Bridge near Daesan-myeon, Uichang-gu, are currently being controlled due to a fire on the riverside near the bridge," and urged, "As a large amount of smoke is being generated, we ask nearby residents to pay close attention to safety."

The city also advised, "Due to the fire near Susan Bridge along the Nakdong River, residents within or near the riverside area are requested to evacuate to a safe place."

The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage once the blaze is fully extinguished.
