First Launched at Dongjak District Office
Dunamu, the operator of the digital asset exchange Upbit, is launching the 'UP Class on the Go' program for local residents.
'UP Class' is a digital finance education program tailored to different generations. Last year, it provided education not only to nonprofit organizations such as Community Chest of Korea, World Vision, and the Korea Green Foundation, but also to a number of financial institutions including NH Investment & Securities, IBK Investment & Securities, and Shinhan Investment & Securities.
This time, 'UP Class on the Go' will be operated in collaboration with local governments across the country, with the program team visiting each region to meet residents in person. The first session was offered in partnership with the Dongjak District Office as a special winter break course at Dongjak Residents' University, titled 'Understanding Digital Assets,' open to all Dongjak residents. The course ran for about three weeks from January 15 to January 29, and received four times more applicants than the available spots at the time of recruitment.
The UP Class held with the Dongjak District Office featured a step-by-step curriculum covering understanding digital assets and Bitcoin, major altcoins and stablecoins, blockchain technology and digital asset donations, and fraud prevention. The program was designed as a systematic educational process, from basic concepts to actual investment, so that even residents new to digital assets could easily understand. In particular, it included prevention and response strategies against the rapidly increasing digital asset scams.
Oh Kyungseok, CEO of Dunamu, stated, "This education program is especially meaningful because UP Class is working together with local governments and grassroots communities," adding, "We will continue our efforts to foster a correct understanding of digital assets and to nurture a healthy investment culture."
