Dispute Mediation Cases Now Subdivided by Insurance Category and Coverage Type
The Financial Supervisory Service announced on January 29 that it has added 75 new dispute mediation cases to its website and improved the way these cases are presented to the public.
First, the cases have been organized so that users can easily find case types by insurance category and coverage type at a glance.
Previously, the cases were only classified into broad categories such as life insurance, non-life insurance, and automobile insurance. For example, consumers interested only in annuity cases within life insurance had to browse the entire life insurance section.
To address this, the Financial Supervisory Service has further subdivided the cases by insurance category and coverage type. Now, consumers can select the specific coverage they need and immediately view the relevant dispute mediation cases.
The titles of the cases have also been revised to include the cause of the dispute and the resolution process, allowing consumers to grasp the content of the dispute at a glance just by reading the title.
Additionally, 75 new dispute mediation cases that consumers are likely to misunderstand have been released. Including the previously available cases, a total of 160 dispute mediation cases are now posted.
An official from the Financial Supervisory Service stated, "We will continue to release practical cases accumulated during the dispute mediation process," adding, "Through cases of unpaid insurance claims, we aim to help consumers understand important points to consider when filing insurance claims."
