Jeong Eunbo, Chairman of the Korea Exchange, departed on January 24, 2026, to attend the first board meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and to host a global roadshow for the Korean stock market in New York.
According to the Korea Exchange on January 26, the WFE board meeting, which will be held in Washington, D.C., will discuss key issues that have recently emerged in the global exchange industry, including tokenization, shortening of settlement cycles, and the 24-hour trading system.
Chairman Jeong plans to exchange views with the CEOs of each exchange on the roles and response strategies regarding these major issues, and to share insights based on the operational experience of the Korean capital market.
On January 28, the "Korea Exchange Global Roadshow: KOSPI 5000 and Beyond" event will be held in New York. Co-hosted by the Korea Exchange and Goldman Sachs, the event will be attended by approximately 20 institutional investors, including global asset management firms and hedge funds.
The Korea Exchange plans to focus on explaining the policy efforts of the government and the exchange to revitalize the Korean stock market and strengthen market trust, while actively emphasizing that the Korean market stands at a turning point to move beyond its undervalued phase and become a leading global market.
A representative of the Korea Exchange stated, "Through overseas promotions and international capital market networking activities aimed at enhancing the global status of the Korean stock market, we will increase foreign investors' understanding and trust in the Korean market, thereby encouraging long-term investment expansion."
