More Than 800 Residents Attend,
Event Filled with Enthusiasm and Community Spirit
Heo Seong-moo, a National Assembly member from the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Seongsan District, Changwon and a member of the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee), successfully concluded the '2026 Legislative Report Meeting' held at Changwon Moonseong University.
The legislative report meeting, held on January 24 under the title "Seongsan Running Again! Together with Heo Seong-moo!", was organized to share Assemblyman Heo's legislative activities and achievements over the past year with local residents. Heo also presented the key tasks that must be pursued for the future of Seongsan District and shared his vision for the district as it enters a new era.
The event was attended by more than 800 residents, including Lee Sang-yeol, head of the Changwon branch of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation; Hwang Ki-seong, head of organization at the Korea GM Changwon branch; and Cho Kyung-sik, head of the labor union at Doosan Enerbility. The venue was filled with enthusiasm.
Assemblyman Heo especially highlighted the following achievements: ranking first in Changwon for the number of bills sponsored (a total of 63); securing 76 billion won in national funding for Seongsan District for 2026; passing the power grid impact assessment for the Changwon Data Center; collecting signatures from 213,933 citizens to promote the Dongdaegu-Changwon KTX high-speed rail project; concluding the Korea-US tariff negotiations; resolving Hanwha Ocean's 47 billion won damages lawsuit; and winning the Democratic Party's Outstanding Lawmaker Award for two consecutive years.
Heo also mentioned the following legislative priorities for this year: designating Changwon as a national advanced strategic industry cluster; furthering the Dongdaegu-Changwon KTX high-speed rail project; improving water intake and supply facilities along the Four Major Rivers; stabilizing employment at Korea GM; supporting the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration's state affairs; and assisting in the June 3 local elections.
During the latter part of the event, there was an interactive session where residents asked questions on post-it notes and Assemblyman Heo responded directly. When one resident expressed concern about Heo's health due to his busy schedule, Heo replied with wit, "I always make sure to eat well, no matter how busy I am, because I need to stay healthy for my constituents."
Assemblyman Heo stated, "The reason Changwon can move forward and embrace new changes is thanks to the support of all our residents. I will continue to actively reflect the voices from the field in my legislative work and do my utmost to elevate Changwon's status."
