Damyang County in Jeollanam-do will provide "Happiness Vouchers" to improve the quality of life for female farmers who juggle heavy farm work and household chores.

According to Damyang County on January 21, applications for the "2026 Happiness Voucher Support Program for Female Farmers" will be accepted until February 27.

This year, the program will support a total of 4,166 recipients, an increase from last year. The county will invest a total project budget of 1.25 billion won, including 235 million won from provincial funds and 1.015 billion won from county funds. Each eligible household will receive 300,000 won per year.

Eligible applicants are female farmers aged 20 to 80 (born between 1946 and 2006) who have been registered residents of Damyang County for at least one year as of January 1, 2026, and are actively engaged in farming.

However, those who have a business registration, hold a full-time non-farming job, or whose non-agricultural income in 2024 exceeds 37 million won are excluded from eligibility.

Of the support amount, 200,000 won from provincial funds will be loaded as points onto an NH Nonghyup Chaeum Card under the recipient's name, while the additional 100,000 won from county funds will be provided as local currency on the Damyang Sarang Card.

Female farmers wishing to apply should visit their local township or town office by February 27 to submit their application.

The county will finalize the list of recipients and begin distributing the vouchers from March. The awarded points can be freely used in eligible sectors such as culture, arts, and health until the end of December this year.

Jung Cheolwon, Mayor of Damyang County, stated, "I hope that female farmers struggling with heavy farm work will enjoy a variety of cultural benefits through this support," adding, "We will actively promote the program so that all eligible applicants can apply within the deadline and receive the benefits."
