Jung Somin and Ryu Seungbum to Star in Netflix's "Dealer"... "Tazza" Cinematographer Directs

Actors Jung Somin and Ryu Seungbum will star together in the new Netflix original series "Dealer." The series is drawing attention as Hwang Donghyuk, director of "Squid Game," is participating as a producer.

On January 14, Netflix officially announced the production of the series "Dealer" and revealed the main cast lineup. This crime thriller follows a casino dealer who loses her wedding funds to a scam and, in order to recover the money, returns to the gambling scene by using her long-sealed skills.

Jung Somin will play the protagonist, Jung Geonhwa. She is a character who has hidden her exceptional sleight of hand and lived as a diligent dealer, but after being scammed, she embarks on the path of a high-stakes gambler. Ryu Seungbum will take on the role of Hwang Chisu, Jung Geonhwa's ally who drifts from one gambling table to another. He survives by hustling around the casino and eventually joins Jung Geonhwa's plan.

Lee Soo-hyuk will portray Jo Jun, a player who dominates the casino with his cold judgment, while Ryu Kyungsoo will play Choi Wooseung, Jung Geonhwa's lover and a detective in the violent crimes unit who is investigating the case.

The production team is also noteworthy. The director's chair is taken by Choi Younghwan, the cinematographer known for his stylish visuals in films such as "Tazza: The High Rollers," "The Thieves," and "Veteran." This project marks his directorial debut. Planning and production are led by Hwang Donghyuk of Firstman Studio, who spearheaded the "Squid Game" series.
