Four Chosun University ROTC Graduates Promoted to Major General and Brigadier General Simultaneously

Chosun University announced on January 14 that four graduates from the university's 118th Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) were promoted to Major General and Brigadier General in the government’s general officer appointments carried out on January 9.


This round of appointments, which included promotions to Major General and Brigadier General as well as key command assignments, was aimed at strengthening military combat capabilities and preparing for future battlefields. The selection process emphasized "talented individuals who get the job done," regardless of background or military branch.


Among those promoted from the Chosun University 118th ROTC are Major General Park Minyoung (Class of 1989, Department of German Studies, promoted from Brigadier General to Major General); Brigadier General Seo Pilseok (Class of 1991, Department of Electrical Engineering, promoted from Colonel to Brigadier General); Brigadier General Kim Heechan (Class of 1994, Department of Aerospace Engineering); and Brigadier General Hwang Jubong (Class of 1994, Department of Social Physical Education).


These individuals are expected to take on key command and staff positions in major combat units, demonstrating that Chosun University graduates are growing into central figures within the military organization.


Chosun University plans to continue cultivating practical leaders who serve the nation and society and find solutions in the field, centered around its ROTC program, thereby strengthening its role as a university that shares responsibility for the future and security of South Korea.


A representative from Chosun University stated, "These promotions are evidence that Chosun University's commitment to practical education and responsible leadership development is yielding results in the field of national security," adding, "We will continue to nurture talented individuals who contribute to society and the nation, based on the spirit of a university founded by the people."
