Thirteen Principal and Current Members of the Vienna Philharmonic
Showcasing the Authentic Viennese Sound
Haman County in South Gyeongsang Province will host the Philharmonic Ensemble New Year’s Concert, featuring current members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Grand Concert Hall of the Haman Culture and Arts Center on February 5, 2026.
This performance will showcase the authentic Vienna sound, with thirteen principal and current members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra-renowned for its world-class reputation and tradition-taking the stage. The ensemble is centered around violinist Shk?lzen Doli and includes principal players and current members from each section, such as flute, oboe, and horn.
The Philharmonic Ensemble maintains the highest level of performance style and unique sound that encapsulate the history and tradition of the Vienna Philharmonic. The ensemble is acclaimed worldwide for allowing audiences to enjoy the artistry of a large orchestra in a chamber music format. Since their performance in Korea in 2017 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Austria, they have been consistently invited by major venues across the country.
This concert will feature a diverse program, including works by Johann Strauss II, known as the "King of Waltz," as well as suites from the opera "Carmen," polkas, waltzes, and tangos. The familiar repertoire is expected to provide an enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages.
The program is mainly composed of works by Austrian composers, offering a vivid sense of Austria’s musical history and tradition. Audiences will have the opportunity to experience authentic Viennese music performed by members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra themselves.
An official from the Haman Culture and Arts Center stated, "This New Year’s concert is a very special opportunity to experience a world-class ensemble right here in Haman," adding, "We hope you will start the new year with vibrant energy and the elegance of classical melodies."
