ZD Ventures Makes Pre-Series A Investment in U.S. Telehealth Clinic "Legion Health"

AI-Powered Full Stack Model
"Reducing 60-Day Wait Times to Just 1 Day"
Transforming Access to Psychiatric Care in the U.S.

ZD Ventures, an early-stage startup-focused investment firm, announced on January 13 that it has made a pre-Series A investment in Legion Health, a U.S.-based telehealth clinic. The investment amount was not disclosed.

Legion Health is a startup co-founded by former dorm roommates from Princeton University in the United States. Existing investor Y Combinator participated in this round, along with new investors such as Next Coast Ventures.

ZD Ventures Makes Pre-Series A Investment in U.S. Telehealth Clinic "Legion Health"

Legion Health is a telehealth clinic that has dramatically reduced the average 60-day wait time for psychiatric appointments in the United States. Going beyond simply connecting patients and doctors, the company has established a “full stack model” in which it directly operates the entire medical process. This ultra-fast healthcare system enables patients to receive professional treatment at home as soon as the day after registration.

In particular, Legion Health has fully integrated artificial intelligence (AI) technology across the entire process of “appointment, pre-examination, consultation, and billing” to resolve chronic administrative bottlenecks. Key features include: an “AI Auto Scheduler” that instantly assigns optimal appointment times; an “AI Risk and Suitability Screener” that pre-screens insurance eligibility and patient risk; a “Clinical Copilot” that analyzes consultation notes to automate prescriptions; and “AI CPT Coding” for precise billing. These features are seamlessly combined, allowing patients to meet with specialists and complete prescriptions in a single, one-stop healthcare service as soon as they decide to seek treatment.

ZD Ventures decided to invest in Legion Health, recognizing its use of AI technology to fundamentally resolve bottlenecks in the U.S. mental health system. By addressing issues of accessibility and appointment speed through technology, the company has earned strong user trust and demonstrated a sustainable revenue model.

In fact, Legion Health has demonstrated operational efficiency by being able to respond in real time even as its patient base quadrupled, without the need for additional staff. As a result, the company achieved 350% year-over-year revenue growth, and the average number of visits per patient reached 5.3-more than twice the industry average.

With this investment, Legion Health plans to expand its service areas and solidify future profitability through insurance rate negotiations. The company also aims to complete a “personalized AI health home” that will provide integrated management from drug testing to patients’ daily activities.

Kim Hakyeong, CEO of ZD Ventures, stated, “Legion Health is setting a new standard for the U.S. mental health system with its overwhelming AI infrastructure and operational efficiency. We will continue to broaden our connections with global innovative companies that have unique business models.”
