89.8% Satisfaction in "2025 Social Survey"
Marked Improvements in Transportation and Safety
The level of satisfaction with living conditions among residents of Yongin, Gyeonggi Province has increased for the third consecutive year.
On January 8, the Yongin City government announced that, according to the results of the "2025 Yongin Social Survey" conducted among its citizens, the overall satisfaction rate with living conditions reached 89.8%.
This survey was conducted from August 20 to September 3 of last year, targeting household members aged 15 and older from 1,590 households in the region. The survey was carried out through face-to-face interviews and online submissions. It covered 42 common items across six areas-welfare, housing and transportation, culture and leisure, education, income and consumption, and jobs and labor-as well as 11 special items, including overall satisfaction with city administration and policy demands.
The results showed that citizen satisfaction rose for three consecutive years: 87.8% in 2023, 89.3% in 2024, and 89.8% last year.
By category, satisfaction with family and social relationships was the highest at 96.3%. In addition, satisfaction rates exceeded 90% in most areas of daily life, including safety (95.0%), housing (94.0%), environment (92.4%), and education and childcare (92.0%). Satisfaction with health and welfare and with economy and employment stood at 88.7% and 87.6%, respectively.
Compared to the previous year, the most notable improvements in perceived satisfaction among citizens were in "transportation" and "safety." Satisfaction with transportation increased by 3.6 percentage points, from 76.8% to 80.4%, while satisfaction with safety rose by 1.7 percentage points, from 93.3% to 95.0%.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "The results of this survey are significant in that they show citizens perceive ongoing improvements in the city's overall living environment. We will continue to pursue initiatives that bring about positive changes in all areas of society."
