Visits Central 119 Safety Center
On January 1, Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province organized its first day of the new year with a focus on public welfare and safety, beginning with a sunrise event, followed by visits to the Changwon Memorial Tower and the National 3·15 Democratic Cemetery, and culminating with a visit to the Masan Fire Station's Central 119 Safety Center.

Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, attended the sunrise event at Jinhaeru in the morning, exchanged New Year’s greetings with citizens, visited the Changwon Memorial Tower to pay tribute to those who sacrificed for the country, and then visited the National 3·15 Democratic Cemetery to reflect on the significance of democratization.
Later, at the Central 119 Safety Center, Acting Mayor Jang encouraged the firefighters who maintained readiness for emergency dispatches during the holiday and the New Year, and inspected the on-site response system for various disaster situations, including fires, rescues, and emergency medical services.
The Masan Fire Station operates a 24-hour shift system centered on 10 safety centers and rescue teams, playing a frontline role in protecting the lives and property of citizens.
Changwon City is recognized for having maintained stable municipal administration throughout 2025 in areas directly related to citizens’ daily lives, such as disaster and safety management, community-focused administration, and strengthening on-site response capabilities.
In particular, the city’s prompt responses to various disaster situations and its field-oriented administration have contributed to enhancing citizens’ sense of safety. This visit to the fire station reaffirmed the city’s commitment to prioritizing citizen safety and further strengthening on-site response capabilities in the new year, building on these achievements.
Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong stated, "As I began the first steps of the New Year alongside citizens in the field, I will continue to ensure attentive governance that closely supports the lives of our citizens throughout the year."
