Expanded to 100 Locations Nationwide, Including Major Rest Areas Such as Gapyeong and Mannamui Gwangjang Since Its Launch in May 2023
A Win-Win Model That Enhances Customer Convenience and Reduces Operational Burden for Rest Areas
Shinhan Bank announced on December 30 that the number of highway rest areas operating the "Ddanggyeyo" QR order dine-in service has reached 100 locations nationwide.
Ddanggyeyo is a win-win delivery platform launched by Jin Okdong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, during his tenure as bank president. As of December 29, 2025, it has rapidly grown to 8 million members and a cumulative order volume of 931.2 billion KRW, and is expanding its scope with services such as QR order dine-in at stores.
The Ddanggyeyo dine-in service allows customers to order food directly from their table at rest area restaurants using the Ddanggyeyo app, or by scanning a QR code attached at the rest area to order via a web interface without installing the app. Since there is no need for membership registration or separate installation, anyone can use the service, significantly enhancing accessibility and convenience for rest area visitors.
In particular, customers can pre-order food through Ddanggyeyo upon arrival at the rest area and receive a notification when their order is ready for pickup, allowing them to dine quickly without waiting in line even during busy hours. In addition, the service offers a 1,000 KRW discount for orders over 5,000 KRW and a 5,000 KRW discount for orders over 50,000 KRW at rest areas, with no limit on the number of times the discounts can be used.
Furthermore, customers can easily check all 100 rest areas offering QR order service at a glance through the "Nationwide Rest Areas" category in the Ddanggyeyo app, and can also find information on the nearest rest area based on their current location.
The Ddanggyeyo rest area QR order dine-in service began with its first location at Oedong Rest Area in Pohang, Gyeongbuk in May 2023, and has since expanded to major highway rest areas across Korea, including Gapyeong Rest Area, Seoul Mannamui Gwangjang Rest Area, and Cheonan Samgeori Rest Area.
A Shinhan Bank representative stated, "The rest area dine-in service provides customers with a fast and convenient ordering experience, while offering rest areas improved operational efficiency and cost savings as a win-win model." The representative added, "We will continue to expand our rest area services so that Ddanggyeyo ordering is available at rest areas nationwide."
