Automobile Zone in Permanent Exhibition Hall 1 Reopens
Marine Science Technology Pop-up Exhibition, Performances, and Lectures

How about exploring science during winter vacation?

Winter break programs covering automobiles, marine science, space, and neuroscience will be held at the National Busan Science Museum (Director Song Samjong).

The National Busan Science Museum announced on the 30th that it will offer a winter break program encompassing exhibitions, performances, lectures, and educational activities to mark the winter vacation season.

This program is centered on new content themed around various scientific fields, including future mobility, marine science, space exploration, and neuroscience.

First, the Automobile Zone, established in Permanent Exhibition Hall 1, will open on January 20 next year. This space presents the structure and operating principles of automobiles, as well as future mobility technologies such as electric vehicles and autonomous driving, through interactive content.

The pop-up exhibition "Special Exhibition in Collaboration with the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology," focusing on marine science technology and deep-sea exploration, will run from January 20 to May 10. It will showcase deep-sea exploration equipment and research achievements, allowing visitors to explore the world beneath the sea.

The science lecture series "Nth Science" will feature a special space exploration lecture by NASA Professor Paul Yoon, held in the main conference room on January 24 next year. The lecture will address the present and future of space exploration based on real research cases.

The free science performance "Sunday Science Theater" will launch a new season starting January 18. Linked to the renewal of the Automobile Zone, it will present "Move the Future! Mobility Lab" as its theme, with three shows per day (11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.), each accommodating up to 250 visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.

There will also be a winter semester educational program for preschoolers and elementary and middle school students. A total of 86 experiment- and inquiry-based programs will be held at the 3rd floor Education Center from January 3 to February 27. An experimental classroom linked to the preparatory course for the Korea Junior Science Olympiad will also take place.

The joint special exhibition "Striking Neuroscience," hosted by the National Science Museum Corporation and held at the Kim Jin Jae Hall, has extended its run and will be open until March 2 next year. In preparation for the increase in visitors during the vacation and weekends, the museum recently opened a four-story parking tower.

Heo Namyoung, Director of Exhibition and Education at the National Busan Science Museum, said, "We have prepared a variety of content so that people can naturally experience science in their daily lives," adding, "We hope this winter vacation will be a time to get even closer to science."
