Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) has once again demonstrated the excellence of its support policies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), being selected as the top institution for the third consecutive year in the 2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do SME Promotion Policy Evaluation for cities and counties.
This evaluation was conducted to foster a business-friendly environment and strengthen the capabilities of SME support policies. A comprehensive review was carried out across 14 detailed criteria in 5 categories to select the top institutions.
Gyeongsan City received high marks for its outstanding achievements in all areas, including: attracting Hyundai Premium Outlet for regional industrial co-growth; opening a multi-cultural center in the industrial complex; providing interest subsidies for SME operating funds and supporting logistics costs; revising ordinances to ease investment subsidy requirements; achieving the highest export results through trade missions; and conducting on-site visits to boost business morale.
Additionally, at the Gyeongsangbuk-do SME Awards Ceremony held on the same day, local company Honest Co., Ltd. (CEO Kwak Kisung) received the Grand Prize, while Powon System Co., Ltd. (CEO Kwon Odae) was awarded the Management Innovation Grand Prize.
Mayor Cho Hyunil of Gyeongsan City stated, "We have achieved a double celebration with not only the SME Promotion Policy Evaluation but also the SME Grand Prize and commendations for contributors. Going forward, we will continue to actively listen to voices from the field, develop customized policies that meet business needs, and provide administrative support to ensure companies can grow."
