Wonju Accelerates Transition to a Digital Healthcare AI Hub City
Promoting Technological and Industrial Collaboration Through Lecture and MOU
On December 29, Wonju City in Gangwon Province held the "Digital Healthcare AI Hub City Wonju Lecture" at Yonsei University Future Campus and signed a business agreement for cooperation in the AI and digital healthcare industries.

This event was organized to share national policies, global technology trends, and the flow of industrial transformation in the medical and healthcare sectors amid changes in the AI and semiconductor technology environment.
The lecture was co-hosted by Wonju City and Leadtek Korea, with support from Yonsei University Future Campus. It was divided into three main themes: global technology, industrial transformation, and innovative technologies and services.
Presentations were given on each topic, including trends in medical and AI simulation technologies utilizing GPU-based computing, shifts in the digital healthcare industry, and the feasibility of city-scale demonstrations for AI-based smart healthcare services.
The business agreement signed at the event includes mid- to long-term cooperation directions such as AI and GPU-based educational collaboration, the creation of a GPU-based industrial ecosystem, and the expansion of global technology exchange.
On the same day, the opening ceremony for Leadtek Korea was also held at Yonsei University Future Campus. Leadtek Korea is a company focused on NVIDIA GPU-based computing and AI technologies. With this opening, various collaborative initiatives connecting AI, education, and industry are being discussed.
Wonju City plans to connect discussions on policy, technology, and industry in the AI and digital healthcare fields to real-world industries through this event and will gradually seek ways to foster local industries and provide administrative support in the future.
Won Kangsoo, Mayor of Wonju City, stated, "This lecture and agreement are opportunities to review policy and technology trends in the AI and digital healthcare sectors and to examine them administratively in connection with national policy directions," adding, "We plan to continue discussions in accordance with relevant laws and procedures."
