The Sustainable Transportation City Assessment is conducted in accordance with the "Sustainable Transportation and Logistics Development Act" and targets 71 local governments with populations of over 100,000. The cities are classified into four groups based on population and urban characteristics, and an evaluation committee composed of experts assesses them using a total of 26 indicators across four categories.

Gimpo City has focused on implementing transportation policies that citizens can directly experience, with the goal of creating a safe and convenient transportation environment throughout the year. The city eased downtown parking shortages by expanding public parking lots, strengthened enforcement infrastructure to alleviate urban traffic congestion, and simultaneously enhanced safety management and established usage order in response to the increasing use of personal mobility devices (PMs).

Furthermore, to transition to an eco-friendly transportation system, the city supported the adoption of low-carbon transportation means such as electric vehicles and electric motorcycles, and improved public transportation services to increase convenience and the overall efficiency of the transportation system. These efforts were highly evaluated for strengthening the competitiveness of public transportation and promoting carbon neutrality simultaneously.

Gimpo City plans to continue identifying and implementing transportation policies closely related to citizens' daily lives, aiming to develop into a sustainable transportation city that considers both environmental protection and safety.
