Gangwon Province and Samyang Foods Sign Business Agreement to Foster K-Food
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on the 24th that it has signed a business agreement with Samyang Foods Co., Ltd. at the provincial government office to foster K-food that reflects the unique characteristics of Gangwon Province.

This agreement was established to enable local small and medium-sized enterprises in the province to utilize Samyang Foods' Buldak Sauce, a leading K-food product, in developing new products and to support their efforts to target both domestic and international markets.
Through this business agreement, the two parties plan to cooperate in a variety of areas, including: supporting the development of collaborative products using Buldak Sauce; assisting with the development of prototypes and commercialization of these collaborative products; providing support for the commercialization process and marketing for product launches; and offering promotional support in connection with local festivals, food expos, and other events.
To this end, the province will implement a "K-food Product Development Collaboration Support" program to provide financial assistance to participating companies developing new products, while Samyang Foods will offer both paid and free support for Buldak Sauce and participate in the commercialization process and marketing activities.
In January 2026, participating companies will be selected through a public call, and after product development and prototype production, new products will be showcased at various festivals and expos starting in the second half of the year.

I expect that Gangwon's outstanding food resources-such as Anheung Steamed Bread, Chuncheon Dakgalbi, and Inje Dried Pollack-will combine with the powerful 'Buldak' brand to set a new global standard for K-food that captivates taste buds around the world."
