Are you familiar with the Jejasarang Scholarship?

The Department of Social Welfare at Silla University (President Heo Namsik) held its end-of-semester general meeting, during which it conducted the Jejasarang Scholarship award ceremony and the Excellence in Project Award presentation.

Each year at the end of the year, the Department of Social Welfare at Silla University operates the Best Student Award (BSA) system, selecting one student from each grade who has demonstrated exemplary conduct and behavior to receive a scholarship. In addition, the department also runs the Excellence in Project Award system, recognizing students who have diligently completed their major assignments and achieved outstanding results, with awards given by course.

On December 18, at the end-of-semester meeting marking the close of the 2025 academic year, the department held the BSA and Excellence in Project Award ceremonies, presenting scholarships and certificates to a total of 29 students.

The scholarships are funded through regular payroll deductions from the department's professors, aiming to instill a sense of pride in students as future social workers and to provide opportunities to foster community spirit and social responsibility.

The department is also promoting its development by building a "department-student infrastructure" based on trust between professors and students.

Lee Yunho, a third-year student who received the BSA Scholarship, said, "I am very happy to receive a scholarship filled with the professors’ care, and I will continue to work hard in my studies to enhance the reputation of our department. I hope this scholarship will help strengthen the bonds among my peers and seniors and juniors, so that we can all enjoy a rewarding campus life together."

Jung Sujeong, head of the Department of Social Welfare at Silla University, emphasized, "The Jejasarang Scholarship carries the message that the department is supporting the growth and efforts of each and every student. Together with my fellow professors, I will continue to provide ongoing support to nurture talented individuals who are committed to diligent study and the value of sharing."
