Automatic Recharge Next Year Only for Annual Spending Over 30,000 Won
The Korea Arts Council announced on December 24 that recipients must use the entire balance of their Culture Nuri Card support funds by December 31. Only those who spend at least 30,000 won this year will have next year’s support funds (140,000 won) automatically recharged.
The Culture Nuri Card, an integrated cultural voucher, is a cultural welfare program designed to expand cultural opportunities for vulnerable groups. It is available to basic livelihood security recipients and those in the lower-income bracket aged six and older. The card can be used at over 34,000 affiliated locations nationwide across the fields of culture and arts, travel, and sports.
Users who have not yet used their card or have a remaining balance must use it by the end of the year. Any unused amount will be automatically forfeited and returned to the national treasury. The remaining balance can be checked through the Culture Nuri Card website, mobile app, or customer center (ARS).
An official in charge of the Arko Culture Nuri Card program stated, “The Culture Nuri Card is a system designed for those who have difficulty enjoying cultural activities due to financial circumstances. If you have a remaining balance, please make sure to use it by the end of the year, and if you spend more than 30,000 won, you will also receive the automatic recharge benefit for next year.”
