For Apartment Complexes Over 15 Years Old
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will accept applications for the 'Elevator Replacement and Maintenance Support Project' for aging apartment complexes in the city from December 22, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
The project targets apartment complexes built under the Housing Act or the Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act that have been in use for more than 15 years since their inspection date. Selected complexes will receive partial financial support for elevator replacement, maintenance, and repair costs.
The city will prioritize support for projects that require complete replacement following a detailed safety inspection, as well as for the installation of eight key safety components. Support will also be provided for equipment replacement and repair necessary for maintenance and management, and for the installation of regenerative braking devices to improve elevator energy efficiency.
Complexes wishing to apply should submit the required documents by registered mail or email to the Housing Support Team of the Housing Management Division at City Hall. Detailed information can be found in the announcement posted on the City Hall website.
Meanwhile, in December 2024, the city revised the 'Hwaseong City Apartment Complex Management Ordinance' to expand the scope and eligibility of apartment complex support projects starting this year. Major projects include ▲support for repair and renovation of common facilities ▲support for installation of safety-related facilities such as electric vehicle fire prevention ▲support for elevator replacement ▲support for air conditioner installation costs in security offices ▲support for improving rest facilities for security and cleaning workers ▲support for revitalizing community life ▲opening of apartment complex parking lots ▲support for communal electricity costs in public rental housing, among others.
Following this elevator replacement and maintenance support project, the city plans to announce detailed support requirements and application procedures for each area, such as repair and renovation of common facilities and improvement of the working environment for apartment complex workers, separately in January 2026.
Kim Hyungap, Head of the Housing Management Division of Hwaseong City, said, "We will continue to implement various support projects to enhance the safety and comfort of aging apartment complexes."
