Taebaek City Named Best Institution for Local Tax Administration in Gangwon Province for Second Consecutive Year

Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on December 19 that it has been selected as the best city/county for two consecutive years in the "2025 Comprehensive Evaluation of Local Tax Administration" conducted by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

This evaluation was conducted comprehensively on all aspects of local tax administration for 18 cities and counties in the province, including: ▲ local tax assessment and collection operations, ▲ management of delinquent taxes, ▲ local tax audits, ▲ management of non-tax revenues, and ▲ implementation of special policies.

Taebaek City received high marks for its stable and systematic performance in local tax assessment, collection, and tax audit operations, achieving overall excellent results.

In particular, to enhance taxpayer convenience, the city has introduced large-print local tax bills and has continuously pursued a variety of tax administration improvements, such as: ▲ supporting resident tax for households moving in from outside the city, ▲ providing informatization training for non-tax revenue officers, and ▲ holding strategy meetings to strengthen delinquency management, covering both local taxes and non-tax revenues.

In addition, the city maintained stable performance in core local tax administration tasks, such as improving the accuracy of tax assessments, strengthening the management of delinquent taxes, and ensuring fairness in tax audit operations, earning high marks in the comprehensive evaluation.
