Samcheok City Selected as an Excellent Institution in the 2025 Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation

Samcheok City in Gangwon Province announced on the 19th that it has been awarded the Excellence Prize in the '2025 Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation' conducted among 18 cities and counties in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

This evaluation comprehensively assessed overall local tax administration across 18 cities and counties within Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, covering five main areas and 18 detailed categories. Following its top prize wins in both 2023 and 2024, Samcheok City was selected for the Excellence Prize this year, earning recognition as an outstanding institution for three consecutive years.

The Taxation Division of Samcheok City has made various efforts this year to realize taxpayer-centered tax administration. These efforts included implementing policies to increase the voluntary payment rate of local tax arrears, strengthening customized guidance services to enhance taxpayer convenience, and improving the quality of tax consultation services. In addition, the division has maintained a systematic and trustworthy tax administration by enhancing fairness and transparency in the taxation process and identifying and proposing practical tasks for institutional improvement.

A city official stated, "We deeply appreciate our citizens who have faithfully paid their local taxes despite challenging economic conditions, and we achieved this good result thanks to the dedication and hard work of our Taxation Division staff." The official added, "We will continue to strengthen our tax revenue base and enhance citizen-centered tax services to build a trusted administration."

Meanwhile, the city plans to use this award as an opportunity to further improve the efficiency and fairness of tax administration and to pursue continuous innovation with the goal of realizing advanced tax administration that citizens can relate to and trust.
