The Youth Challenge Support Project targets young people who have given up on job searching for more than six months or are facing difficulties finding employment. Through customized programs tailored to short-, mid-, and long-term stages, the project supports the recovery of job-seeking motivation, strengthens employment capabilities, and facilitates connections to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. It provides step-by-step support throughout the job preparation process, including counseling, education, and activity support tailored to the participants' situations and characteristics.

Last year, the city and the Changwon Policy Research Institute formed a consortium and were selected for the project for the first time. By operating customized programs that reflect the needs of local youth and implementing systematic post-program management, they have worked to ensure the project’s stable establishment. As a result, they achieved a high completion rate among participants, notable employment and entrepreneurship outcomes, and strong linkage with follow-up policies such as the National Employment Support System and vocational training. These achievements led to an outstanding rating in the 2025 Ministry of Employment and Labor performance evaluation.

The city plans to continue promoting the Youth Challenge Support Project so that young people who want to work can take on new challenges. Next year, the support scale will be expanded to assist a total of 130 participants.

Kim Jiyeong, Director of Youth Policy, stated, "Being selected as an outstanding institution in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's public contest project is recognition of our efforts to deliver challenge and hope to young people. Next year, we will expand our support so that even more young people can experience challenges and achievements."
