Customized Lecture on Rotator Cuff Tears, Frozen Shoulder, and More
Busan Bumin Hospital will hold the December Bumin Health Class for local residents at 2:00 p.m. on December 18 in the main building’s second basement auditorium.
This lecture, titled "Shoulder Pain: Don't Ignore It," will be presented by Jungwoo Kim, Head of the Joint Center, who will explain common shoulder conditions that frequently occur among the elderly.
The session will focus on representative shoulder disorders such as rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, and calcific tendinitis. It will cover the characteristics and main symptoms of each condition, the discomfort experienced in daily life, and introduce step-by-step treatment methods ranging from non-surgical to surgical options.
Since many people tend to dismiss shoulder pain as a simple sign of aging and leave it untreated, the lecture will also explain the differences between each condition, the potential problems that can arise if treatment is delayed, and provide guidance on daily management and preventive measures to avoid worsening symptoms.
Jungwoo Kim stated, "There are quite a few patients who endure shoulder pain and miss the optimal time for treatment. I hope this lecture will help participants gain a correct understanding of shoulder disorders and serve as an opportunity to maintain a healthy daily life through appropriate treatment and management tailored to their symptoms."
The Bumin Health Class is a free monthly health lecture for local residents organized by Busan Bumin Hospital, and anyone can participate without prior registration. Detailed schedules and information are available on the hospital's website.
