The county applied for this second-half evaluation and underwent a total of three stages: a document review, an on-site inspection, and a final deliberation. As a result, it received an "appropriate" rating from the North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province.

Previously, the county has operated an art museum since 2016, and starting this year, it has been preparing for public art museum registration by hiring professional curators, renovating exhibition halls, and upgrading storage facilities, thereby improving both facilities and operations. These ongoing efforts were made to meet the criteria for establishing a public art museum.

Through this evaluation, the county was recognized for having cultural infrastructure and an administrative system that meet the standards required for public art museum establishment.

Based on the results of this preliminary evaluation, the county plans to proceed with the necessary administrative procedures for final public art museum registration. Once officially registered, the museum will become eligible for national funding to support exhibitions and is expected to receive practical benefits, such as priority selection for various other cultural and arts projects linked to national and provincial funding.

A county official stated, "We will continue to make steady preparations for the museum's registration," adding, "After registration, we will actively pursue joint exhibitions with institutions such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, as well as various programs in different artistic fields. Our goal is to expand cultural opportunities for county residents and ensure that Sunchang County takes the lead in regional arts and culture."
