This new parking tower project was initiated to resolve the chronic shortage of parking spaces on weekends and holidays and to provide a more comfortable environment for visitors. Construction began in January and was completed in December.

The parking tower was built on the site of the museum's existing outdoor parking lot, with a total floor area of 6,676.92 square meters and a structure of three stories with four levels, accommodating up to 255 vehicles.

As a result, the total number of parking spaces at the museum has increased from 416 to 595.

A total of 10 billion won was invested in this project, including 7 billion won from the national government and 3 billion won from the local government (Busan City).

Previously, at the completion ceremony held on December 15, the National Busan Science Museum presented plaques of appreciation to the construction project manager and contractors (Sangji Engineering Architecture Office and JY Industrial Development), delivered a project progress report, and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Song Samjong, Director of the National Busan Science Museum, stated, "With the opening of this parking tower, we expect a significant improvement in parking convenience for our visitors. We will continue to work on improving the visitor experience so that everyone can more easily access the museum and enjoy science culture."

Since its opening in December 2015, the National Busan Science Museum celebrated its 10th anniversary this year by renovating the Saessak Nuri Hall and the permanent exhibition hall's automobile zone, as well as promoting sustainable growth through archiving exhibitions, seminars, and symposiums. In 2026, the museum plans to further strengthen the foundation for the spread of science culture by improving the outdoor exhibition area and the planetarium.
