CI Tech, led by CEO Kim Daeyoung, has officially been recognized for independently securing core technology for its AI healthcare business after winning a world-renowned international artificial intelligence competition.
CI Tech took first place among 22 teams and 27 systems in the CLIP (Cadenza Lyric Intelligibility Prediction) Challenge, hosted by the 2026 IEEE ICASSP (International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing).
This competition is an internationally respected event that evaluates "speech and auditory-based intelligibility prediction technology," serving as a benchmark for the competitiveness of speech and auditory-based AI technologies overall.
The "speech and auditory-based intelligibility prediction technology" demonstrated by CI Tech at this competition will soon become the core engine of a healthcare platform that quantifies and monitors a patient's health status through speech and auditory signals. This technology requires sophisticated AI prediction capabilities that not only analyze audio sources but also take into account the actual cognitive characteristics of listeners, making it an essential technology in the healthcare field.
By winning the competition with a core algorithm developed entirely in-house, CI Tech has clearly proven its ability to independently implement advanced auditory and speech recognition AI technology without relying on external solutions.
In particular, this achievement is highly significant for the industry as it represents a step beyond traditional audio and sound device-centered technologies, securing a core capability for the future of healthcare: "AI-based quantitative understanding and prediction of human vital signs."
CI Tech plans to officially present these research results at the ICASSP 2026 academic conference, which will be held in May 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. Building on the technology secured through this competition, the company is expanding its development efforts not only in speech and auditory cognition technology but also in the analysis of biometric vital signs.
Meanwhile, CI Tech has recently implemented bold restructuring in its core business sectors and successfully shifted to a profitability-focused management strategy, achieving organizational improvement. As a result of strengthening its business portfolio based on advanced technological competitiveness, the company has maintained a solid trend of performance improvement, including achieving operating profit for three consecutive quarters on a standalone basis.
