Building a Customized Education Model and Strengthening the Cooperative Framework
Yongsan District in Seoul (District Mayor Park Heeyoung) announced on the 7th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Jung Geunsik) at the Yongsan Global Education Support Center on the 5th to promote the 'Yongsan Education Cooperation Special Zone.'

This agreement was made as the existing 'Seoul Future Education Zone' was transitioned into the 'Seoul Education Cooperation Special Zone.' The focus is on establishing a customized education model that reflects the regional characteristics and educational needs of Yongsan District, as well as strengthening the cooperative system among local governments, schools, the Office of Education, and the Education Support Office.
The core goal of the 'Yongsan Education Cooperation Special Zone' is to build a close cooperative framework among Yongsan District, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, the Jungbu Education Support Office, and local schools, in order to enhance students' future competencies and systematize educational support based on regional characteristics.
Under the agreement, Yongsan District plans to work with the Jungbu Education Support Office to focus on key initiatives such as implementing regionally distinctive programs, strengthening community-linked education, establishing an integrated student support system, and expanding customized career and academic guidance. Through these efforts, the district intends to actively discover local educational resources and reinforce multifaceted support connected to school education.
The signing ceremony was attended by Park Heeyoung, District Mayor of Yongsan, Jung Geunsik, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and the Director of the Jungbu Education Support Office, among other officials, who reaffirmed their commitment to institutional cooperation and signed the agreement.
Meanwhile, the Yongsan Global Education Support Center, where the signing ceremony was held, opened on October 16 and serves as a hub for educational support for local students and parents. The center offers a wide range of educational content, including career and academic counseling, global competency enhancement, future talent development, and customized programs for parents, thereby contributing to the revitalization of local education.
