According to the county, this agreement was pursued to address the urgent challenge of regional extinction, and to establish a joint response system for sustainable regional economic revitalization and the creation of a foundation for youth settlement through public-private cooperation.
The signing ceremony was attended by a total of seven people, including Sunchang County Governor Choi Youngil and three county officials, as well as Daesang Corporation Executive Director Kim Kyungsook and three representatives from the headquarters and the Sunchang plant. The participants pledged to begin practical cooperation based on mutual trust between the two organizations.
Under the agreement, both parties will jointly cooperate in four key areas: ▲nurturing local talent and creating jobs for young people ▲strengthening the competitiveness of local industries and revitalizing the economy ▲improving residential conditions and expanding social contribution ▲establishing strategies to respond to regional extinction.
The county will be responsible for related policies and administrative support, while Daesang Corporation plans to promote projects that can make a tangible contribution to the local community by leveraging its technology and infrastructure. To this end, the two organizations will regularly review the implementation of the agreement and operate a joint consultative body to discuss specific action plans.
The main areas of cooperation specified in the agreement include providing internship and field training opportunities for local youth, operating industry-academia-linked educational programs, developing and expanding markets for products using local agricultural products, supporting technology for small and medium-sized enterprises, and expanding social contribution activities.
Kim Kyungsook, Executive Director of Daesang Corporation, said, "Sunchang is the region where Daesang's traditional fermentation technology has taken root, and we will continue to create a win-win model that grows together with the local community. Furthermore, we will take a leading role in developing Sunchang's traditional sauces into globally recognized foods."
Governor Choi Youngil emphasized, "At a time when cooperation with the private sector is urgently needed to overcome the crisis of regional extinction, this agreement with Daesang Corporation is a very meaningful starting point. We will continue to make every administrative effort to ensure that it leads to tangible outcomes such as job creation, youth settlement support, and increased consumption of local agricultural products."
