This performance is free and open to all ages, and reservations can be made through the Namwon City Traditional Music Orchestra's KakaoTalk channel.

'Ongojisin' was planned to revisit the unique spirit of tradition and to connect the breath of folk music left by our ancestors with the sensibilities of today. Sorigwangdae (traditional music storytellers) Lee Seungmin and Kim Dohee will add dramatic humor and a sense of presence, guiding the overall flow of the performance.

The program will open with 'Taepyeongso and Orchestra,' followed by 'Cheong's Sea,' a reimagined piece based on the scene from the pansori Simcheongga where Simcheong throws herself into the Indangsu. 'Gu-eum Sinawi,' which features improvisation and free-form performance, will add vocal improvisation and Salpuri dance to the traditional Sinawi style.

Next, the stage will feature 'Mill Song,' 'Sound of Twisting Rope,' which captures the life of labor, and 'Yukjabaegi,' which expressively portrays various emotions of life such as love, separation, longing, and hardship.

The finale will be the Taepyeongmu, a dance wishing for an era of peace and prosperity. This elegant and restrained dance, imbued with inner strength and grandeur, will be reinterpreted as an electronic music piece while maintaining the traditional melody and rhythmic accompaniment, aiming to resonate with contemporary audiences.

Choi Yongseok, Artistic Director of the Namwon City Traditional Music Orchestra, stated, "'Ongojisin,' a reinterpretation of folk music that captures the joys and sorrows of our lives, was prepared to reflect on the eventful past year and to share new hopes, supporting the lives of us all."

Meanwhile, the Namwon City Traditional Music Orchestra received great acclaim last August and September for its original changgeuk 'Girl Chunhyang,' which incorporated the history of Donghak in Namwon into the pansori Chunhyangga. The orchestra is also preparing a new changgeuk for next year.
