Daytime Highs to Reach 17-19°C
Beware of Icy Conditions on Mountain Roads
With the brief early winter cold spell subsiding in the Jeju region, mostly clear and mild weather is expected to continue through the weekend.
According to the Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration, Jeju Island will experience mostly clear or partly cloudy skies under the influence of high pressure from December 5 through the weekend. However, during the morning of the 5th, there may be occasional rain or snow, especially on the northern and western slopes of Hallasan.
Temperatures will remain somewhat chilly through the morning of the 6th, but will gradually rise to seasonal averages as southwesterly winds move in from midday. The daytime high on the 5th will range from 10 to 13 degrees Celsius, with morning lows on the 6th between 4 and 7 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs reaching 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the 7th, the daytime high is expected to reach 17 to 19 degrees Celsius, bringing mild weather.
Until the morning of the 5th, both land and sea areas will experience strong winds with gusts exceeding 15 meters per second, so caution is advised.
An official from the Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration stated, "There are still some areas with snow accumulation in the mountains and on mountain roads, and by the morning of the 6th, snow that melted during the day may refreeze overnight as temperatures drop, creating icy or slick road conditions. Please pay special attention to traffic safety."
Next week, Jeju is expected to remain mostly clear, with morning lows around 6 degrees Celsius and daytime highs near 16 degrees Celsius.
