Jeollanam-do to Conduct Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Census Until December 22

Comprehensive Survey of 250,000 Farming, Forestry, and Fishing Households
Essential Data for Rural Policy Development

Jeollanam-do to Conduct Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Census Until December 22

Jeollanam-do will conduct the main survey of the 2025 Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Census targeting 250,000 farming, forestry, and fishing households until December 22, in order to prepare foundational data for rural policy development.

The Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Census is a nationwide census conducted every five years by the National Data Agency (formerly Statistics Korea) and local governments, targeting all farming, forestry, and fishing households across the country. It examines the scale, structure, distribution, and management types of these households, providing essential data for various policy decisions.

This year's survey includes items reflecting recent environmental changes in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors, such as responses to climate change, advances in smart agriculture and farming technologies, and shifts in rural population structure.

Jeollanam-do and its 22 cities and counties will deploy about 2,000 statistical surveyors this year to conduct both online and in-person interviews.

For the online survey, participants can refer to the instructions sent by mail and take part via the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Census website until December 10.

The in-person interviews will be conducted through surveyors visiting farming, forestry, and fishing households, as well as administrative villages in towns and townships, until December 22.

Surveyors will use tablet PCs, foreign language questionnaires, and survey guidelines, and will be personnel who have received thorough training on relevant instructions and precautions. All collected information will be strictly protected under the Statistics Act.

Cho Daejeong, Policy Planning Director of Jeollanam-do, stated, "The Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Census is a crucial statistical survey for designing future policies for rural areas," and urged, "We ask for the active participation and cooperation of all residents."
