DGIST (President Lee Geonwoo) and Ajin P&P, a company specializing in corrugated cardboard and packaging materials, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on December 1 to promote mutual cooperation and joint development. Through this agreement, the two organizations will begin full-scale collaboration to share research and development capabilities, strengthen industry-academia-research partnerships, and drive innovation in the local industry.
Ajin P&P is a corrugated cardboard and packaging materials company based in Dalseong-gun, Daegu, manufacturing corrugated cardboard, kraft paper, and boxboard. The company has experienced significant growth as demand for delivery and packaging surged after the COVID-19 pandemic. It has now established itself as a mid-sized company with annual sales of 300 billion won.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to strengthen cooperation in a variety of areas, including promoting industry-academia collaborative research projects and supporting outstanding researchers, conducting joint research and development and projects, co-hosting seminars, workshops, and academic events, and other initiatives for mutual development.
In particular, Ajin P&P contributed a development fund of 100 million won to actively support joint research and industry-academia collaboration activities with DGIST. The fund will be used in various areas to secure future growth engines, such as research support, talent development, and operation of industry-academia cooperation programs.
DGIST President Lee Geonwoo stated, "Ajin P&P's contribution of a development fund will greatly boost regional innovation and the activation of industry-academia cooperation," adding, "We will further strengthen the social dissemination of our research achievements through collaboration with industry."
Meanwhile, Jung Hyunwook, President of Ajin P&P, commented, "Although we are located in the same region, there has been little interaction until now," and added, "Through this opportunity, we aim to create new growth opportunities by combining DGIST's research capabilities with our industrial experience."
