This newly established course aims to lay the foundation for strengthening the nation's counterterrorism capabilities and to solidify a collaborative system among central government ministries and related agencies.

Seventeen practitioners from relevant organizations, including the National Police Agency and the Counterterrorism Center of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, participated in the course. The program focused on practical training, covering topics such as understanding national counterterrorism policies and legal frameworks, domestic and international terrorism trends, initial response to terrorist incidents, and building inter-agency cooperation systems.

Starting next year, the Korean National Police University plans to institutionalize the "Counterterrorism Policy Course" as a regular part of its curriculum to systematically support the enhancement of nationwide counterterrorism capabilities.

Kim Sunghee, President of the Korean National Police University, stated, "Terrorism is a complex threat that cannot be addressed by a single agency alone. This course will serve as a significant turning point in establishing an integrated national response system by strengthening cooperation and information sharing among related agencies."
