Chung-Ang University Hosts Global Virtual Convergence Economy Conference in Vietnam

International Discussion on Future Strategies for the Virtual Convergence Economy

Chung-Ang University is accelerating its efforts to become an international hub in advanced ICT and metaverse sectors by strengthening global cooperation for the establishment of a global virtual convergence economy ecosystem.

On November 26, Chung-Ang University announced that it had successfully hosted the "2025 Global Virtual Convergence Economy Conference" in collaboration with the Realistic Media Innovation Convergence College Project Group, the Virtual Convergence College, and the Content Future Convergence Forum.


This conference was organized to share international trends in core technologies that will lead future industries-such as realistic media, virtual convergence economy, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse-and to expand a global cooperation network focused on Korea and Vietnam.


The event, held on November 19 at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, began with an opening address by Wi Jung-hyun, Chairperson of the Virtual Convergence Economy Forum. This was followed by a keynote speech from Lee Eun-kyu, Science and Technology Attach? at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, who presented the main strategies of Korea's AI policy under the theme "Korea's AI Policy Direction."


Ha Thi Hong Van, Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics and World Economy at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a presentation on "Achievements and Challenges of Vietnam's Digital Economy Development," emphasizing the need for cooperation between the two countries.


Chairperson Wi Jung-hyun proposed future joint business models through his presentation on "Korea-Vietnam Cooperation Strategies Through the Integration of Virtual Convergence and the Artificial Intelligence Industry."


During the afternoon session, experts from various fields gave presentations. Professor Ko Hye-young of Seoul Women's University introduced "Prosocial Game Project Education for Social Innovation," while Acting Secretary General Le Toan Thanh analyzed the local startup environment in his presentation on "Vietnam's Startup Ecosystem."


Professor Kang Sin-jin of Hongik University discussed "Changes in Game Development Collaboration Structures in the AI Era," and Professor Kim Kyuhyun of Chung-Ang University shared cases of technological convergence in industries through his presentation on "Artificial Intelligence and Animation." Kim Yong-tae, Branch Manager of Letuin Edu, spoke about "The Effectiveness of EdTech in Advanced Manufacturing Education," and Professor Won Eun-seok of Mokwon University concluded the conference with a presentation on "Stablecoins and Digital Content Services."


Chung-Ang University assessed that the event significantly strengthened the cooperation network among domestic and international universities, companies, and research institutions, laying the foundation for creating new business opportunities in the virtual convergence economy sector.


Chairperson Wi Jung-hyun stated, "This conference marks an important turning point in establishing a cooperative system for the virtual convergence industry between Korea and Vietnam," adding, "By combining the technological and industrial capabilities of both countries, we can jointly develop innovative technologies and services that are competitive in the global market."


Chung-Ang University plans to continue building cooperative platforms and strengthening global partnerships to foster the international virtual convergence economy ecosystem.
